15 new agreements between Qatar and Turkey to develop bilateral ties

Agreements and cooperations are still growing between Turkey and Qatar whereas the 12 deals to be signed on Monday have now increased to 15 in which were sealed on Tuesday.

Earlier on Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was welcomed with an official ceremony by Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the two leaders held a one-on-one meeting at the Amiri Diwan, the emir’s office.

The Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency’s report read that during Erdogan’s two-day working visit in Doha, Qatar, the two countries have signed 12 agreements covering various domains, including trade, investment, development, culture, youth, sports, diplomacy, health, religious affairs, and the media.

Their agreements extended to 15 deals, including developments within financial and bilateral relations.

The new agreements signed between Qatar and Turkey on Tuesday were:

1- A memo of understanding on disaster and emergency management.

2- An agreement to establish institutional cooperation between Turkey’s Antalya Diplomacy Forum and Qatar’s Doha Forum.

3- A memorandum of understanding between Turkey’s Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises Development Organization (KOSGEB) and the Qatar Development Bank.

4- A deal between the Turkish Standards Institute (TurkStat) and the Qatar General Organization for Standardization.

Anadolu Agency the leading Turkish press, and Qatar News Agency are also planning to sign a media cooperation agreement.

After the signing ceremony, Erdogan and Al Thani have attended the 7th Turkey-Qatar Supreme Strategic Committee meeting.

At the meeting in Doha, the Turkish president, Qatari emir, and the relevant ministers reviewed all aspects of the bilateral relations and discussed steps that could be taken to deepen the cooperation.

In addition to bilateral relations, views on regional and international issues were exchanged during the meetings.
