Ramadan nights and the Sufi dance in Amasya

The Turkish city of Amasya is known as the "Emraa," where the majority of the Ottoman princes received their first education and training in the use of peace and the management of international affairs.

Amasya is one of the most critical cities for cultural tourism during Ramadan. Harshina Mount and the rock-cut tombs of the Kings of Pontus have been included in the UNESCO Tentative List of Human Heritage. It is also known as the land where the legendary lovers Farhad and Shirin lived.

The city preserves its historical shape, represented by the houses of "Yali Buyu," mosques, and museums. The Amasya municipality band has been practicing a 158-year-old tradition of making concerts in the historic Harshina Castle throughout Ramadan.

Amasya still uses the Ramadan cannon on Iftar time. It began to be used in the sixties of the nineteenth century to announce the times of Iftar and Suhoor, according to instructions from the then governor of the city, Dia Pasha.

Visitors are very interested in the museums in the 8,500-year-old, which hosted many civilizations that have settled in it throughout history, such as the Hittites, Persians, Romans, and Ottomans.
